The Nikki Beach Resort & Spa opened its doors on 28th July 2014 in Porto Heli and welcomed the public to a timehonoured history. Glamour, comfort, an idyllic location right by the seafront and a destination overflowing with splendour form the elements that since the late 60s made “Youli” hotel extremely popular.
The first owner, Georgios Katsaris, succeeded in setting up a hotel that attracted a plethora of celebrities of the time as well as frequenters of the “Greek Riviera”, who consistently opted for the area as their summer getaway in Greece. The clientele though which was drawn to the impressive hotel with the awe-inspiring view to the sea from the room balconies, along with the beauty of the surrounding nature were not enough to help it survive in an era during which developments in the tourism industry were rapid and, therefore, client expectations high. It was these conditions that led to its shutdown in the late 90s, a rather ‘unfortunate’ circumstance, which nevertheless made the hotel “uniquely available” for a total revamp.
In 2007 this opportunity for a new start was seized by Miltos Kampourides, founder of Dolphin Capital, who bought the property and with his team embarked on the adventure of obtaining a refurbishment permit.The vision for the creation of a lively hotel which would mainly attract young people, was ideally shared with Sary Arab and Jihad El Khoury –managers and owners of the Nikki Beach Hotels brand – who warmly embraced the business plan. And as a result,2010 marked the official start of the cooperation for the creation of the first Nikki Beach Club and Hotel in Greece. Zoniro company – a subsidiary of Dolphin Capital Ιnvestors – in association with Domotechniki SA undertook the project implementation, while the architectural plan was signed by Gatserelia Design and Arch Group. The hotel has 17 suites as well as 49 apartments and lofts which will be available for long-term lease.
The Nikki Beach Resort & Spa is part of a greater investment plan in the area which includes an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course in Kilada, 2 more hotels, infrastructure projects and, of course, the Amanzoe Resort, which has received raving reviews from the international media, experts and guests, and is arguably considered the best resort in the Mediterranean.
